The 2012 property tax levy is 15.5 mills, which means the owner of a $50,000 home will pay about $193.75 in property taxes to the township, about $6 more than 2011. Residents also pay property and other taxes to Clearfield County and the DuBois Area School District. Residents of the Treasure Lake community in the township also pay an annual assessment - $835 this year - to the Treasure Lake Property Owners Association.

Of that 15.5 mills of property tax general government will use 12 1/2 mills, 2 1/2 mills will go to fire protection and one-half mill is dedicated to the DuBois Public Library, a benefit to everyone in the DuBois area. The Township also contributes money to the area's Joint Transportation Authority, with DuBois and Falls Creek, DuFast Transit, which is another benefit to the entire community.

The general fund budget totals $3,933,800, an increase from $3,638,111 in 2011.

The municipal authority's budget, which is supported by revenue from sewer and water service, not property taxes, is $2,787,348, with $1,715,000 budgeted for sewer and $1,072,348 budgeted for water. Tax monies can only be used for water and sewer projects if they are for economic development (job creation), and therefore, for the greater good of the entire community.

The liquid fuels budget is $2,023,162.
