Board of Supervisors

Comprised of five supervisors elected at-large, the board is responsible for all township business matters including day-to-day operations, long-term planning, creating and administering the annual budget and overseeing the police and fire departments.

Current board members are Chairman Brady LaBorde, Vice Chairman Jim Jeffers, David Sylvis, Mark Sullivan and Ray "Sarge" Anderson .

The supervisors meet the first and third Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room of the municipal building. See the Meetings page for specific information and dates.

Municipal Authority

The supervisors also act as the municipal authority, which is responsible for all matters relating to water and sewage service in the township.

Authority members and officers are the same as the board of supervisors. The authority also meets on the first and third Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room. See the Meetings page for specific information and dates.

Planning Commission

The planning commission reviews and makes recommendations to the supervisors about subdivision and land development issues. Co-Planning Commission Directors are Shelly Reasinger and James Keck. Commission members are Chairman Dan Corbet, Vice Chairman John Horten, and Tom Allshouse, Bob Buriak and Bob Fleck. It meets the third Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the conference room. Zoning Hearing Board

This board reviews and makes final determination on appeals and exceptions to zoning non-conformance use requests pertaining to signs, building setback and special continuances.

Serving as members are Chairman Joseph Bowser, Vice Chairman Walter Kosiba, Larry Marteney and alternate Steve Bertsel.   The board meets on the second Thursday at times dependent on the agenda. See the Meetings page for specific information and dates

Water & Sewer Authority

The Sandy Township Water & Sewer Authority is responsible for special projects with in the township related to water and sewer infrastructure. Currently they are working on a township wide water study. Water & Sewer Authority is comprised of 5 appointed members. The current members are: David Lukehart - Chairman, Blaise Ferraraccio - Vice Chairman, William Kolash, Jr., Paul Sekula, and Dan Stover. The Authority meets every other month and as required at the present time. See the Meetings page for specific information and dates.
